About Me

Hello! My name is Jeremy Gonzalez. I’m currently a 25-year-old student at Boyce College, the undergraduate school at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.

Over the past seven years, the Lord has brought me through a variety of different seasons of life. From serving in the Marines for 6 years, to serving in vocational ministry in Austin, Texas- to just now moving across the country for school.

Born in Garland, Texas and raised in Austin – my story is simply this: I was lost in sin and chose multiple identities that did not satisfy. It wasn’t until my sophomore year of high school where I met the Lord. After several seasons of walking with Him, I’ve come to want nothing more than to live a life wholly dedicated to God. To me, anything else would be wasted time and my prayer is to live a life that reflects Paul’s words- in which whatever impressive works I’ve accumulated, I would count them all as a loss for the immeasurable worth of knowing Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus has called all of us to that same ministry (Matt. 28:19-20, Luke. 10:2).

For all my days, my desire is to see communities transformed by the power of the gospel into an expressively worshiping culture that loves God. I believe that we as created beings were created to worship something, we worship our education, our favorite sports teams, our financial income, our jobs, other people, and even ourselves (Matt. 6:21). Yet, as followers of Jesus -God’s Word is explicit- He alone is worthy of our worship (1 Chron. 29:11, every psalm, Isaiah 42:8). The beauty of the gospel is that no one is righteous in the sight of the Lord (Rom. 3:10-12), we were bound for our due punishment, but God out of His love, kindness, and mercy made a way to have perfect fellowship with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ and His perfect work on the cross (Eph. 1:3-10). How could we not respond in awe about that?
The uniqueness of God’s creativity is that He created us with mouths to respond to Him and hands to do His will.

After that being said, I hope you enjoy my thoughts and collections!

Extended Note: My hope is that most of my writings contain content rich with biblical theology for the purpose of helping and encouraging believing readers in their walk with the Lord Jesus. You may find all sorts of stuff on this blog from Bible reading, Doctrine & Theology, stories from the Marines, Residency, and whatever else the Lord is calling me to!

My strongest desire for the non-believer reading is that the Gospel would captivate you into the life-changing realities of Jesus Christ.
